The bear in the corner

Polar Bear from Plane Stupid on Vimeo.

He Said:

What's not to love about some thrilling action as polar bears fly through the sky and smash into stuff with blood flying everywhere? While slightly disturbed I must admit, I was kept engaged throughout until the end, and isn't that the objective?
Oh wait the message... Yes well, this is where I guess I was slightly disappointed... The environment is no doubt an important issue and TV ads like this are a reminder to us all, however, will I stop flying as a result of seeing this ad? No. The reason being, as an individual I feel deeply underpowered and know just like my vote in Britians Got Talent, one more really won't make a difference. Granted if everyone thought this, we wouldn't have a show to watch, but as an average person with no direct affect, I know there will always be someone who cares that slight bit more.

She Said:

One day, I forget which, I woke up and it seemed overnight, the whole world had started to care about the environment. I make it a point to ask people these days if they recycle. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't. When did this happen? Not that I have anything against good causes. I suppose people need to feel they are making a difference, 'if you're not part of the solution' and all that. I don't claim to be an expert but I can't help but think this whole global warming thing is a bit of, to put it bluntly, a con. I understand we need to worry about the children of the future, but surely we should be focusing on children suffering today, who are dealing with far more immediate concerns, like where their next meal is coming from and the bomb that might drop on them. Frankly, if summer lasts a little longer these days, I for one have no complaints. Set your house in order, then worry about the Ozone Layer. As for recycling, I'm wearing last season's Gucci boots. Does that count?
