Games of submission and domination surround us in every field. At work, within our families, in our daily interactions with others there is always the pull of the ego, my way, your way, the boss's way.
And then there are "the rules", laws, by-laws, and the authority figures that enforce them. And then there is that shadowy element to obedience, and those who enforce it, whether by physical brutality or sheer force of will, and those who make an art form out of surrender, letting go of all control except for the intial choice of giving themselves up completely.
I love the work of this artist, the elongated forms, the slightly fairy like element, the melting, melding, androgynous hinting. And the name, what dangerous thresholds have we held ourselves back from, and what have we secretly entered into under the cover of darkness, faces covered, souls exposed...
