It's all in the mince

At some point we have to stop and ask ourselves the chicken or egg-esque question of: “do we make the mass media- or does the mass media make us?”
Not to be 20th century cliché about it but I can’t help but wonder if the majority do in fact believe that there are more important things to worry about than hapless celebrities binge drinking. At the same time, I find it hard to believe that most people would rather read, and in fact demand to read, about tiger woods destroying his life than discover that: tigers are an endangered species, there may come a time where we no longer have woods, and lives are being destroyed by ignorance. There are better battles to be won than those on American Idol.
