So let's get one thing straight, I hate conventional thinking and traditional mentalities. Break out of your shells and move on kinda thing. Around me are people who buy/get art strictly on the basis of "Is it a beautiful landscape?" or "Does this art piece speak to my soul?"... Puuuhlease!
Why am I still seeing that art is so restricted to cheesy spiritual images of serene landscapes? Why can't you get a piece that speaks of a concept or god-forbid have some graphic imagery that reminds you of something, confronts you with a truth. OK I'll stop ranting now. Sometimes photographs are just photographs of something cool, something funny or just snapshots of everyday people. But why do we dismiss them as such? Why do we just leave them hanging in the digital and virtual world of twtpic and facebook to be forgotten one week later. They can be as beautiful and expressive as any sunset photograph of a beach. And I guess that's my pickle, don't just import your images online and forget them. They can be pieces of artisitic expression if you allow them to be.
