Since the day Leonardo Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa, this work of art has fascinated man. Mona Lisa (also known as La Gioconda or La Joconde) is famous for her smile, or lack of smile and a favorite of all ages.
The painting is dated between 1503 and 1506 and is today the property of the French government, located at the Louvre Museum in the center of Paris. The painting is shielded by bulletproof glass due to the special interest from some considered as unwanted sources. The painting is insured for approximately $700 million.
Its famous status has led to the image being printed on everything from key chains, mugs, to posters and t-shirts, and wherever else it could fit.
