Have you ever tried imagining life without technology? I don’t mean a life merely lacking the high-end luxury elements—I mean things as simple as alarm clocks or gas stoves. I tried to imagine my life without the daily things we take for granted because I woke up late (the battery of my alarm clock died on me and my dog was laying in the corner chewing on my cell phone). I realized that no matter how much you schedule, pre-plan, and in this case, set an alarm on two instruments, you still can’t depend on anything.I decided on taking a different approach the next day. After changing the battery on the clock and replacing my phone, I asked a friend to call and wake me up the next morning. So there: at the end of the day, I needed a human to do the job right.
The next morning I woke up with the jarring alarm clock blaring at me- but no call. Later I learned he didn’t wake up on time himself; his alarm clock died.
What I don't understand is that 30 years ago, there was neither the alarm clock, nor the mobile phone but people still woke up on time for their schedules.
I guess they could follow the sun more than we can.
