Beirut

Bashar Alaeddin - TiltShift Beirut

Whether you're drunk or having one of those life-reflecting moments, it's that goose-bump feeling you get when you think you're down and feel like times have changed, and that you've grown old out of your university party days that you realize driving back on that Syrian highway back to Amman from Beirut, that life is so beautifully simple and that it will always keep moving no matter how many times you try to pause it to help yourself reflect in those goose-bump moments.

We all travel to meet new people and experience new things but the main point is to meet one's self at the journey's end. But it's that highway, you can only imagine what your mind can think of and where it wanders driving back to sobriety and reality at 160km/hr listening to the soundtrack of your life while your main concern is when will you visit Beirut once again. That City!! That fucking indestructible City!! will always be there for you when you need to escape, reminisce...

To all the friends I've met during those wonderful Ristretto street days, don't read this when you're sober or at work unless you truly understand that feeling I'm talking about. That Cafe Del Mar Vol.6 kind of feeling of happy love-life utopia that comes once every I don't know how long but when they do come...
