MASKS

Don Michael, Jr. - Love at First Sight

People wear masks all the time. They wear masks wherever they go. They want to hide.
Hide from whom or what?  From other people who wear masks. They want to hide because they don’t want other mask wearing creatures to see their real selves. They don’t want them to know that beneath the gorgeous facade are grieving and desperate beings. Masks come in handy for these desperate souls. When you‘re going through a difficult phase in your life. When you are financially strap and incidentally your bank increases interest, it can really piss you off. Or should I say it can really cause a big wave of stress that can wash you down. Drowning in that wave of stress can make you look awful. So what’s the next best thing to vanishing just like that?...  Wear a “happy face” mask. Go hide the asphyxiated feeling. At least for awhile people will not notice that you are drowning in a sea of mess.

We are all clowns in one form or another. Name me a person who is without some form of a facade and I'll tell you you're not looking good enough. Everybody wears a block as a natural armor for self-preservation, whether emotionally, mentally, even physically. In a sense, this mask can be advantageous as it keeps the distance between individuals, events and matter from colliding against oneanother, thereby acting as a protective shield in between forces.
