You might be the centre of your world—possibly just the world you have created for yourself. Think about it from a broader perspective.
I was using Google Earth when it just hit me, how insignificantly small we are. Try zooming out until you can see the entire world and then when you imagine that the world is just one of the eight planets circling around a sun (which could swallow up how many Earths??) and that in this solar system that our planet is like a grain of sand in the entire universe; it's a creepy feeling. It’s like, if the universe had a microscope and was examining itself, Earth wouldn’t even be in the picture. I wonder if our solar system would even appear in the picture. I have always been in awe of the sheer vastness of the ocean and the grandeur of the mountains. We are only the tiniest of ants compared to the nature around us, and that can be an intimidating feeling. Life seems pointless. We are so engrossed in our immediate life and material stuff that we forget that all we are trying to do is better our lives and the lives of humans—and that doesn’t matter in the broader picture, doesn’t matter to the universe! Alone, just alone, we don’t even have the power to change the world, which itself is just a speck in the universe…
We are, in the end, insignificant.
